Hello, I am Maria
Project manager. Parent. An expat based in Barcelona, Spain.
A few years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Spain wasn't in our long-range plan. Like many expatriate relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far larger.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, routines, and expectations. Daily chores seemed more intricate than necessary.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of learning on the job. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Why I Built NotQuiraTiraDovi
Most information online hovered around corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice grounded in real life in Spain.
What this site covers (and what it doesn't)
This site is:
- Hands-on insights from living in Spain
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated when genuine changes occur
This site isn't:
- An official tourism authority resource
- A paid review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Spain continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Barcelona or anywhere in Spain, don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Maria
